Why Pump Check exists
Fuel prices in the UK change constantly, and most comparison sites bury the useful data behind cluttered maps, sign-up walls, and premium paywalls. Pump Check was built to fix that.
Enter a postcode or share your location, and you'll see the cheapest nearby stations in seconds. No account needed — just simple data, front and centre.
What makes it different
- No login required. Just search and go — no accounts, no sign-up walls.
- No premium features. Everything is free for everyone. There's no paid tier hiding the good stuff.
- No cluttered maps or messy UI. Other sites bury prices behind slow-loading maps and layers of menus. Pump Check keeps it clean.
- Simple data, front and centre. Prices ranked by a smart scoring model so the most useful results are always at the top.
How results are ranked
Showing the cheapest station 20 miles away isn't helpful when there's one 2 miles away that's only a penny more. Pump Check uses a composite scoring model that balances three factors:
- 1 Price — the listed pence-per-litre for your chosen fuel type.
- 2 Distance — how far the station is from you. A small penalty is added per mile so that closer stations rank higher when prices are similar.
- 3 Data freshness — prices confirmed recently are trusted more. Older prices receive a penalty because they're more likely to be out of date.
The result is a ranked list that gives you the best trade-off between price, proximity, and reliability — not just the lowest headline number.
Where the data comes from
Pump Check aggregates publicly available fuel price data from across the UK and refreshes it regularly. Stations that are permanently or temporarily closed are automatically excluded from results.
